A Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a scary and fun-filled Halloween. I can see cavities on the horizon! We had a blast over the last part of October. After our little jaunt to the local farm store for tractor-pulled wagon rides, we attended the annual MOMS Club Halloween party. That was the first time Ayden got to don his full lion costume, and Owen his Itsy Bitsy Spiderman. We made crafts and the boys played with friends, and fun was had by all!

We also made our annual trip out to Lakeview Farms pumpkin patch with our friends Bridget, Patrick and Everett (met through the MOMS Club) and Grandma Kelly, Grandpa Guy and Uncle Chad. The weather was perfect as far as early Fall in Oregon goes! Bridget’s mom was kind enough to hand-make the boys each a pumpkin stocking cap - so cute! - and theme appropriate! Ayden got his first pony ride while at the farm. He kept insisting that the ponies were “donkeys” and said “hee haw, hee haw!”. It was very funny! He also had fun roaming the pumpkin patch, picking up a pumpkin for a few minutes before finding a “better one” and casting the last aside. At one point he rolled over a pumpkin to find an earthworm living in a clod of dirt stuck to the bottom. This was a riveting find for a good five or six minutes! We also got to ride the miniature train to and from the patch, eat fresh caramel corn, Ayden rode in a wheelbarrow and we watched the pigs munching on pumpkins. What better way to spend the afternoon? It was a blast!

Owen’s Pumpkin Head

We spent Halloween (last night) in Sherwood with the Boisvert’s and Grandma Gail.  It was Owen’s first Halloween (5 and a half months old now!), though it passed without much ado for him, as he slept through the trick-or-treating portion of the evening. With all the kiddos dressed and threatening to break the door down, Heather and I headed out with the lion (Ayden), pirate Captain Jack Sparrow (Emery), and Princess Belle (Lindsay) for some trick-or-treating fun! It took the boys a few houses before they caught on to the idea - having tried to enter the first two houses we went to! But once they got the hang of it, Ayden would say, “I want more candy, Mommy. More houses please!”. As their treat bags became heavy (and Ayden’s eyelids too!), we rallied back at Heather’s house to check out the loot! They all made out like bandits, and Ayden woke up this morning asking for chocolate (pronounced as “choc-o-wit”) for breakfast. The kids had a great time! Now rationing the candy is going to be the greatest challenge…

Ayden’s Lion Costume

In the midst of all this recent excitement, Owen has fought through a nasty bought of croup, all while pushing through tooth number TWO! Yes, he now has two teeth on the bottom, arriving a mere two days apart! Poor little bugger!  Fortunately no biting practice on Mommy yet! He’s now on the mend from the croup, though we’re 10 days and counting! Ah, the joys of parenthood! Lovin’ every minute!!!

Lots and lots of pics in the Late Oct 2007 - Halloween gallery! Enjoy!

Wow, the costumes turned out perfect! And nice make-up jobs. I can’t believe they actually kept it on!

I love the make-up as well, it really makes Ayden’s costume that much better!

Emery looks like he is straight out of Pirates of the Carribbean!

Great looking “lion”…he is so-o-o cute. Sounds like they had a great time trick or treating.

    Love, Nanna
