Wow! We’ve just returned, sun-soaked and weary, after a long afternoon at Antique Powerland in Brooks, OR (about 40 minutes from home). This turned out to be an extremely fun and interesting exhibit/fair of tractors and farm equipment both old and new. Ayden (and Patrick) was in heaven going from one huge tractor to another, climbing on some, fawning over others! He had a GREAT time and I think we’ll be making it an annual event for our family! It was nice to have Grandma Kelly, Grandpa Guy, Auntie Korrisa and cousin Deontay along for the fun too! We tooks tons of photos and I’ve shared some of them in the new gallery. Check out the Antique Powerland website if you’re interested in the details. Their website really doesn’t do the event justice. It was many, many acres of tractors, well displayed with entertaining demonstrations going on constantly. There was never a dull moment, and certainly no lack of noise or exhaust fumes! Plus, it keeps us in touch with a little piece of Americana! Enjoy!

Owen is 2 months old today! So the question I pose is in regard to my own reaction to this development. Already? Because it seems as though time is soaring by and I haven’t even had a chance to catch my breath since my crazy labor and delivery with him. That’s It? Because it feels like Owen has been a part of our family forever. I can’t remember life without him at this point! Owen is truckin’ right along in terms of baby development. At his 2-month checkup today, he weighed in at 15lbs 10oz (100+ percentile), 42.5cm head (90th percentile) and 24″ length (95th percentile). He’s smiling fully - and fully melting my heart in the process! He’s starting to experiment with his oh-so-adorable baby coos and squeaks. He’s getting so alert and curious and watches anything and everything he can manage to lock his eyes on. I can imagine nothing more amazing and fulfilling than watching this beautiful, healthy little boy growing and learning. It’s my greatest pleasure and honor to be the proud Mommy of my two boys! Life is good!

So Owen is in his 7th week, during which the date 7/7/7 happened to fall. Coincidence? I think not!
He’s seriously pushing 16 pounds now! I don’t what to do with the boy?!?! We’ll see if the docs think everything is oky-doky next week when he goes to his 2 month checkup. Owen is now really smiling, however I’ve yet to get a good photo! And we also think he was intentionally whacking at the toys hanging in his swing and bouncy seat. He had his eyes locked on the toys and kept raising his wobbly little arm to make contact with the toy. I think he’s a little young for that yet… but he continues to surprise us! Owen lived through his first Independence Day last week. We went down to the Boisvert’s for the late afternoon and evening for a nice hangout, bbq, and some small-scale fireworks. There are lots of cute pics in the new gallery. We also had our first visit from Auntie Sarah (Patrick’s sister living in San Diego) since Owen was born. It was nice for Patrick to have his mom and both of his sisters over for a family visit - it doesn’t happen very often anymore. That’s the latest over the past week and a half! Hope all’s well with all of you! Until next time… enjoy!
It is SO hard for me to swallow that my baby is two years old now!!! And boy is he two in every way! His language and vocabulary are really flourishing, his sense of independence and testing of boundaries is in full force, he has definite ideas and opinions about his world, he’s learning to manipulate his world and the people in it (in the nicest sense of the word), he’s perfected the art of “No!”, he’s sweet and affectionate, he’s aware of people and his surroundings, he’s becoming quite physically capable and wants to test those limits constantly, he’s fascinated with trucks, tractors, and tools, yet will stop and literally smell the flowers and help me water the garden. He’s absolutely amazing and I can’t even remember life without his little pitter pattering feet in our home. So here’s to two trips around the sun and many MANY more to come!
We had a small family birthday party on Saturday, June 30th to celebrate. Thanks to all who attended and spoiled him rotten! He’s having a blast with all the toys and goodies! Enjoy the pics of the event!
Happy Birthday my sweet boy!!! We love you more than you will ever know!
Yes, random, I know. This is just a quick post covering the past week, which included no less than Owen reaching six weeks old, the Boisvert family growing by two new baby rats, and Ayden’s discovery of a vacant cupboard in our kitchen which has since become a cool cave and the pretend oven in which he bakes muffins. Here are the pics to prove it. Enjoy!
