Yeah, yeah, so shoot me. I have finally uploaded photos from the Christmas holiday as well as Lindsay’s 3rd birthday party. Better late than never (I think that’s become my new philosophy since becoming a Mom… never would you have heard that blase attitude from me prior!!!). We had two (actually more like five) mini Christmas celebrations over the week that included Christmas. The weekend prior, we celebrated with the William’s clan in North Portland. Always an adventure with more people crammed into one house than you could ever believe possible! Then we had our own family festivities at home (Patrick, Gail, Ayden, and me)… then the Boisvert clan arrived… then Grandma Kelly and Guy…. then off to Patrick’s grandma’s house in Aurora to visit Kelly’s side of the family. Whew! Talk about exhausting - though fun nonetheless. Ayden made out like a bandit! I think he’s even better off now that we know #2 is a boy, since we can justify more spendy “boy” items because there will be TWO of them to play with it all. A lot of his loot appears in the photos, with the tools and little plastic animals being the biggest hits.
We also celebrated Miss Lindsay’s THIRD birthday - complete with princess-themed party and decor. It’s so hard to believe that three years ago, January 9th, my mom and Patrick and I loaded up into my old Landcruiser at 5am to race up to Bellingham for the birth?!?!? And our current snowy weather really brings it back, since Portland was basically at a standstill due to a major snow and freeze event. It was actually that way all the way up the I-5 corridor, but we powered through and managed not to miss Lindsay’s arrival into the world. What great memories and what a beautiful little niece I got out of the deal!
There are party pics below to prove it! Congrats on your third trip around the sun my little niecey! We love you!!!
Has it really been since May 2006 that we last visited Bill’s Northwoods cabin??? It seems way too hard to believe! We finally made the trek up there this past weekend, just for the night. Our main goal was to check on the cabin itself and see how it has fared the winds and weather of the past couple of months. All in all, it was in one piece. And it was especially nice to be out of cell phone range for the night! I didn’t take many photos, but a selection of those I did are posted for your viewing pleasure. We’re going to make a concerted effort NOT to let 7 months go by before our next visit!
For your viewing pleasure, please enjoy the second and final ultrasound images from December. Most of them are pretty self-explanatory, and the close-up of his “nether region” is labelled appropriately! No more photos forthcoming until his birthday! Bummer! And for the record, we’re still working on his name…
Welcome all to 2007! Is it just me, or is this decade flying by? Speaking of time flying by, Ayden is already past the 18 month mark… He’s closer to 2 than 1!
I know you hear it all the time (accompanied by an eye roll), but they really do grow up so fast! I took Ayden to his 18 month checkup yesterday (the first one daddy ever had to miss). No shots needed which was a huge relief for me being there alone with him (since his daddy is the one that has held him still and then comforted him after every shot he’s ever had). He checked out just fine and is progressing nicely. Here are the pertinent numbers:
Weight: 24lb 4oz (25th percentile)
Height: 32in. (40th percentile)
Head: 50cm (95th percentile)
So after a year and a half of life, wouldn’t you think he’d at least begin to grow into his consistently-in-the-90th-percentile head??? I would! But he’s stayed very true to his own growth pattern from the get go - below average weight and height, above average cranium. The pediatrician just keeps assuring us that there must be lots of brains in there! Let’s hope he’s right!
