Hasta La Bye Bye July

Um, yeah.  So I didn’t manage to post any of July’s pictures DURING THE MONTH OF JULY.  So shoot me.  We have been busy busy busy - as the pictures will attest!  I have posted a wide variety of photos from the month covering activites such as: Ayden playing with his new bike from his birthday party, a family trip to Mollala River State Park, the tail end of Nanna’s visit to Portland, Ayden steeling fruit from the fruit basket in the kitchen, a trip to the beach house owned by Patrick’s aunt’s family in Ocean Park, WA, Ayden playing in the sand for the first time, a huge family reunion of Patrick’s aunt’s family in Lake Oswego, a visit from the Dennis family from Auberry, CA, Uncle Chad’s birthday present, and helping Grandma Gail pack for her European vacation.  Phew!!!  See, we’ve been busy I tell you!!!  Enjoy the pics!

Quite a FEET! he he he

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it here first… Ayden can WALK!  Well, for as much as 7 or 8 feet before collapsing to the ground or into our laps.  On Saturday evening, Patrick and I were sitting apart but facing one another when Ayden simply decided not to drop to the floor to crawl, but rather saunter over to me!!!  Patrick and I couldn’t believe what we saw, so we made him do it over and over again.  After three or four times however, he required a favorite snack as motivation.  So we passed his beloved snack back and forth between us, forcing our child to walk to receive his prize!  I know, cruel and unusual punishment…  He hasn’t done much walking since, except for a single performance for Auntie Heather and Uncle Barney yesterday morning.  Ayden was VERY proud of himself… and very happy about the fuss we made of him.  So that’s the second huge milestone reached in the past couple of weeks (see the "He Speaks?" blog entry before this one).  He’s a busy boy these days.  So much to learn, so little time!
