Closing Out May…

Am I the only one that finds it hard to believe we’re almost HALF WAY through 2006 already!?!?!  Where did the first half of the year go?  Anyway, we brought May to a nice close by spending the Memorial Day weekend up at Bill’s Northwoods cabin.  We, meaning the Whisler’s, the Boisvert’s, and Uncle Chad.  Oh, and the two puppies.  The forecast called for rain, and boy did it!  Luckily we had planned for it with lots of toys, games, and alcohol.  We managed to squeeze one damp hike into Sunday afternoon, which allowed the dogs to stretch their legs and work off some steam.  All in all, it was a pleasant weekend.  Once we got back to Portland and unpacked the cars, the Boisvert’s came over for an impromtu bbq.  The only time the sun appeared was Monday afternoon… and you can’t have a complete Memorial Day weekend without a bbq, right?  So, as expected, there are photos of the cabin weekend, and more from around the house in the May 2006 gallery.  So goodbye May… Hello June!  Yay for Summer!!!

The Newest Boisvert

Kila, the female black lab, has arrived!  Yay!  She and Beau met here at our house yesterday for the first time.  Beau was excited, interested, and protective.  All the things you would expect.  Kila was a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing, but she did fairly well overall.  Beau kept reminding her that HE is the king of this castle (and Kila certainly wasn’t challenging that!).  Kila and the family came over this afternoon and we took the doggies to the powerline park.  They haven’t really played together yet, but they’re just getting comfortable with each other.  Before you know it, they’ll think they’re part of the same pack and things will be fine!  We took a few pics last night and today, so enjoy!

Finally Some Fresh Material!

It’s about damn time, eh?  I finally got a chance to upload some pics from the end of April through a couple of days ago.  You can check them out in the May 2006 gallery.  Not too much new going on at our end.  Ayden is, of course, learning and discovering new and exciting things everyday (as the pics show).  He now easily pulls himself up to standing position using whatever he can get a grip on.  He’s very into his little cracker-type snacks and seems to have gotten over his gag reflex (which had until recently kept him from being able to eat anything hard or dry).  And, not surprisingly, he’s already due for another haircut - his THIRD haircut in his short 10 months!!!  Oh, Uncle Barney… time for another round of haircuts for the boys! :)  And lastly, we’re (the Whisler Clan, including Beau) looking forward to meeting the newest canine member of the Boisvert Clan.  I think we may get to meet "Keela" (I have no idea how they are going to spell the dog’s name) tonight, we’ll see!  Yay, another dog for Beau to play with. Hopefully they’ll get along well!  Look for pics coming soon…  Enjoy the sun!
