Monthly Archive for September, 2005

Almost 69

Now, for those of you with dirty minds, don’t get too excited!  I have posted SIXTY EIGHT new photos.  Check out the Late September 2005
gallery.  I actually posted the pics several days ago, but I’m
just now getting around to pointing them out to you all!  It’s
been a busy September full of visits from the Boisvert’s, a couple trips to the cabin, my brother’s birthday, home improvement projects, a new car, Grandma Gail’s arrival and visit, Lance Armstrong,
Ayden turning three months old, and on and on and on…..  I did a
pretty good job of captioning the photos, sometimes with dates, so that
you can make sense of what happened when.

Oh and as an aside, I would like to recommend a service I recently discovered. It’s the Costco Photo Center
I’ve had a couple of great experiences using this service.  You
have to be a Costco member to use the service.  You can upload
your photos, select the size and quantity you want, pick the store you
want to pick them up at, and the photos are ready for you in an hour!!!  If you visit Costco as often as I seem to, then it’s a service worth trying out.  Just an FYI.

Three Months of Joy

Well, it’s the 30th of September
already, and that means Ayden has completed his third month of life!  Well done little man!  At times I feel like we’ve only just begun
on this incredible journey of parents and child… and at other times, it feels
as though we’re already running out of time… that he’s growing, changing and
developing so quickly.  Patrick and I
try to be really conscious of this race against time and make sure we
appreciate every little moment, no matter how insignificant it seems.  Since the moment Ayden arrived on the scene
three months ago this morning, we have been so completely fulfilled and
consumed by the most pure and unconditional love we’ve ever known.  And we thought our lives were full before
he joined the family!  Ayden has certainly
put everything into (new) perspective for us.
Sometimes the task of helping to mold this tiny human being into a
decent, honest, generous, and law-abiding citizen of the planet seems a
daunting one, but we’re both up to the challenge!  And for some cosmic reason unknown to us, Ayden chose us to be
his parents.  We will do everything in
our power not to disappoint.  Happy
three months little boy!  We love you
more than you will ever know!

Northwoods Escape

Last weekend found us escaping to Bill’s Northwoods cabin once again.  This time, we actually spent two nights (rare for us with the shop schedule such as it is) due to the holiday weekend.  We (Patrick, me, Ayden, Chad, Bill and Beau) met Michael, Catherine, Enzo and Molly up there on Saturday afternoon.  We did a whole lot of nothing, which is exactly what we’d hoped for.  And by nothing, I mean a couple of hikes, several great meals, lots of good chit chat, and ample relaxation time.  All in all it was just what the doctor ordered.  As always, there are lots of good photos to check out in September’s new gallery.  Enjoy!

In other news, Ayden had his 2-month doctor visit on Tuesday.  It would have been quite pleasant, if not for the FOUR shots he had to have - two in each leg.  Needless to say, he was NOT a happy camper.  However, we’re happy to report that he checked out on track and healthy, weighing in at 11lbs 13oz, 22 inches long, 40cm head circumference, and cute as a bug!  It’s kind of funny to note that Patrick and I had made bets with eachother before the appointment about Ayden’s weight.  I guessed 13lbs 13oz and Patrick was in the 14lb range.  Wow, were we off!  The doc said that’s pretty common among parents, since the babies just seem HUGE compared with the day they’re born.  It’s hard to believe that Ayden is still smaller than some babies are when they are newborn!  Yikes!  Glad I’m not the mother of those children!
