A Nice Family Weekend

Happy Tuesday All!  This past weekend turned out to be quite pleasant at the Whisler household.  Grandma Kelly stayed with us starting Thursday evening, since she was in Portland for the weekend to attend the James Taylor concert.  Korrisa and Deontay made a couple of appearances over the weekend and Guy also came over.  Kelly and Guy were nice enough (said it was their grandparental duty) to watch Ayden on Saturday night so that Patrick and I could go out for the evening.  While we were at dinner, a loaf of bread was served to us.  The bread was in a basket and wrapped (like a swaddled baby) in a cloth napkin.  Patrick looked at the bread, and said jokingly, "That’s it, we have to get home."  Funny how quickly we miss our little guy!  The world definately revolves around him now - and we wouldn’t have it any other way!  Thanks again to Guy and Kelly for allowing us to escape for awhile!  As usual, I was armed with my camera over the weekend, so go check out the new pics.

August is almost gone…

Where did August go anyway???  So much to do, so little time!  Anyway, I know they are a bit belated, but feel free to check out the last of my Emery photos and some of the past 2 weeks that we’ve been back home.  Thanks to Chad, Korrisa and Deontay for joining us last Sunday for a lovely backyard BBQ.  The weather and food were great, and so was the company!  Hope we can do it again soon!

And since sometimes prayers do get answered, Grandma Kelly is going to watch our little one this weekend so that Patrick and I can have an evening out together to celebrate (belatedly) our 4 year wedding anniversary and Patrick’s birthday (prematurely).  Should be nice, and I’m sure Grandma will enjoy herself too!

Homecoming!

Emery and Heather arrived home safely this afternoon at 3pm.
Heather seems to be relieved to be in her own surroundings… and we’re
glad to have them both back!  As expected, I took some photos
of their last morning at the hospital and more once we arrived
home.  There’s not much on the agenda tomorrow, just R&R for
Heather and baby.  But don’t despair, I’ll keep the photos coming!

As Promised

Ok folks… Ayden and I got to spend a few hours at the hospital again today… and that means MORE PICTURES
There is a very good chance that Heather will be discharged tomorrow,
instead of Monday, since she’s recovering so well!  If that’s
true, I’ll be sure to document the arrival of Emery to his home for the
first time.  I’m sure Heather is anxious to be in her own
surroundings and not to have to have the family "visiting" at the
hospital - and we’re all anxious to help!  So enjoy the photos,
and I’ll keep you updated on Emery’s move home.

As an aside, I was playing around with my camera this morning and took a handfull of photos of Ayden.  He’s a cutie, even if I do say so myself!!! ;)

More Emery Photos…

While Heather and Barney are busy getting to know baby Emery, and Heather works on recovering, I posted the photos that Barney took yesterday to their site
These photos give you the blow by blow in the operating room - where we
weren’t able to go.  Ayden and I will be making another trip to
the hospital this afternoon for a visit.  I’ll plan to post photos
of that trip this evening… so be sure to check back!  Enjoy!

Bouncing Baby BOY!!!

It’s a Boy!!!  Today we welcomed an 8lb 1oz Emery Isaac Boisvert
into the world!  At 20.5 inches long, Emery arrived via c-section
at 9:49am.  Both mother and baby are healthy and recovering
well.  Barney was by Heather’s side during the procedure and
introduced the eagerly awaiting family and friends to Emery just after
10am this morning.  He’s a beautiful little bundle of boy and I’m
an incredibly proud Auntie!!!  In addition to the photos I put in
the gallery linked above, Carrie also took a bunch of photos that can
be viewed on her site
Heather and Emery will be in the hospital until Monday morning, so more
hospital photos will make it to the site in the next couple of
days.  Then Ayden and I will help welcome Emery to his new home
and then head back to our own.  Boo hoo… it will be tough to
leave!!!  But I’m sure Patrick is missing his little boy
too!  More on Emery to come… enjoy the photos!

Plumping Up

I just got back from another trip to the Postpartum Care Center at St.Vincent’s Hospital with Ayden.  They have a scale and breastfeeding center that is accessible any time you want… and I’ve weighed Ayden weekly for the past few weeks to track his "plumping" progress.  Here’s the scoop:

Birth   7lbs 8oz

1week  6lbs 15 oz

2weeks  (can’t remember exactly)

3weeks   7lbs 15oz

4weeks   8lbs 10oz

5weeks   9lbs 8oz

Anyway, you get the idea that not only did we turn around the food crisis we were having, but Ayden is now tipping the scales at nearly a pound weight gain per week!!!  Yay!

Short & Sweet

Thank you to Carrie for reminding me to mention the new photos I uploaded.  Take look… enjoy!

Settling in Nicely

Ayden is now 5 weeks old WOW!  Chloe and I almost have a routine, then the weekend arrives, and so do the family members.  Don’t get me wrong the company is great, it just kills the routine.

Chloe has just enough time in the day to upload, name, and try to give a capiton to the photos, so I’ll try to get you up to speed on our lives from my point of view (The male point of view…. so I may skip over some of the details).  The business is keeping me very busy, but come 6 o’clock I try to get home as fast as possible to relieve Chloe.  Not that she is relieved when I get home, but just an extra set of hands around the house.  Anyone who has had a child knows what I mean.  Yesterday was a pretty hectic day for Chloe, Ayden was very fussy (all day) so she wasn’t able to get as much done around the house as she likes to (too much).   6 pm rolled around  and I got home shortly there after, to spend the evening with the fam.  Chloe told me the days events (details left out) and how Ayden hadn’t given her any time.  Long story short I got home and Ayden and I took a nice long nap!!! YES!!!  Got to get back to work now.  5 weeks WOW!!
