Baby Update!

Happy Friday!  Patrick and I just returned from an appointment with our midwife
and I thought it time to update everyone.  Everything continues to
go smoothly and "by the book".  My only recent complaints include
inability/uncomfortable sleeping and KANKLES!  It’s true - there
is no longer any part of my body that resembles a standard ankle…
they look far more like tree stumps at this point.  But if this is
the worst side effect of pregnancy that I have to endure, then I will
consider myself VERY lucky!

We’re now about 38.5 weeks along (out
of 40 for those of you that don’t know) and you’re considered full term
at around 36 weeks… so we’re ready for launch!  And at this
point, I’d rather this baby decide it would like to be home for dinner
TONIGHT, rather than wait another week and a half to two weeks.
God forbid we should go past our due date at this point… I am SO DONE!

As for the nitty gritty details (CAUTION: If you are at all squeemish about details, then you’ll want to skip the rest of this paragraph!) the midwife did an internal check and determined that we’re 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated
As you veteran mothers know, while this is exciting progress, it
doesn’t really mean much as far as when the baby will decide to greet
the world.

On a funny note, Patrick is getting a bit antsy at
this point.  He keeps asking me if I’m done "hogging the baby
yet".  How adorable is that?

 We’ll keep you
updated!  Unless I go into labor sooner, our next appointment is
Friday July 1st.  There will be an update to follow that
appointment!

Birthday Boy!

It’s hard to believe that Deontay arrived on the planet TWO YEARS ago!  Time really flies!  With Heather, Barney and Lindsay
down from Bellingham for the weekend, they were able to help us
celebrate Deontay turning 2 last Friday.  We all headed down to
the Pharaoh household for an evening of food, family and fun!  Oh,
and some noise… since the gift that Patrick and I brought for Deontay
was a music set including a drum, maracas, tamborine, and
harmonica!!!  And it was Korrisa’s idea!  You can check out
some of the photos
we took during the evening.  So Happy 2nd Birthday Deontay!
We’ve loved watching you grow during these past two years, and we can’t
wait for all the fun years ahead!!!  We love you!!!
